      Main components: Ferric chloride (ferric chloride and ferrous chloride)

  Properties: Easily soluble in water, methanol, and ethanol. The solution is acidic and corrosive. After hydrolysis, it forms brown flocculent ferric hydroxide, which has strong cohesion. It is prone to deliquescence in air and has strong hygroscopicity.

Functions and Uses
  Mainly used for sewage treatment. It is effective and cost-efficient for treating low-turbidity raw water, but has the drawback of turning water yellow. Also used in roller engraving for printing and dyeing, circuit boards in the electronics industry, and the production of fluorescent digital tubes. In the construction industry, it is used to prepare concrete to enhance its strength, corrosion resistance, and waterproofing. It can also be combined with ferrous chloride, calcium chloride, aluminum chloride, aluminum sulfate, hydrochloric acid, etc., to formulate waterproofing agents for concrete. In the inorganic industry, it is used to manufacture other iron salts and ink. In the dye industry, it serves as an oxidant for Indigosol dye dyeing. In the printing and dyeing industry, it is used as a mordant. In the metallurgical industry, it is used as a chlorinating agent for extracting gold and silver. In the organic industry, it is used as a catalyst, oxidant, and chlorinating agent. In the glass industry, it is used as a hot-state coloring agent for glassware. In the soap industry, it is used as a coagulant for recovering glycerol from soap waste liquid.
   Ferric chloride is also important for metal etching, such as eyeglass frames, watches, electronic components, signs, and nameplates.
